Overview of Governance

Governments can simply be interpreted as the decision making process and the process by which a decision is applied or not applied. Governance is used in various contexts such as national governments, local governments, and so on. From these definitions, the analysis of governance focuses on formal and informal actors involved in decision-making, implementation of the decisions made, as well as formal and informal structures that have been arranged. Government is one of the actors in governance. Other actors involved in governance vary depending on the level of government is discussed. For example in rural areas, other actors may include landlords, associations of farmers and ranchers, industry, research institutions, and others. In urban areas, certainly more complex. The government has a role to connect between the actors involved or influence the government. At the national level, lobbyists, international donors, multinational corporations, mass media, and so have an important role in decision-making process or influence the decision making process. In some countries, a criminal syndicate was also influential in the decision-making process, it is mostly in the urban and national levels. All actors other than government and military, including the civil society.
